Gibson County Red Cross
You can find information concerning First-Aid, CPR, AED and much more. Click on the logo to go directly to the Gibson County Chapter of the American Red Cross. From there you can also find out about volunteer opportunities as well as a variety of training opportunities. Many training classes can now be started online. You can also find links to other Red Cross Chapters if you are not located in Gibson County.
Community Emergency Response Team

Click on the logo to the left to find out about Weather Spotter Training sponsored by the National Weather Service Office from Paducah, KY. This is the office that covers Gibson County and some other Southwest Indiana, Southeast Illinois and Western, KY areas.
Emergency Management InstituteWithin this area you will find training for NIMS (National Incident Management System) that is requied training for anyone that is expected to respond to emergencies with an organization. It is also great training for citizens who want to know how emergency response is organized and operates. Click here for a list of NIMS Training courses.
Although the following is not training in the typical sense, I have found them to be a great resource. You will not receive a certifictae but I am sure you will still learn many new things. Self defense should be one very important aspect of your preparedness activites.

S.W.A.T. MAGAZINE TV from the Outdoor Channel are excellent programs. I encourage you to visit their web site and to watch the program on cable or satellite tv every chance you get. They provide some very good information about self defense and other aspects of planning and preparedness during emergency and/or disaster situations.
